Eye Injuries

Eye injuries may include abrasions, scratches, foreign bodies in the eye, swollen eyelids,  bumps along the eyelids,  burns, chemical exposure, and blunt force trauma to the eye or eyelid. Since the eye is easily damaged, any of these conditions can lead to vision loss if untreated. Dr. Tolbert and her highly trained staff are here to help with any eye emergencies and offer same-day urgent appointments.

Depending on the type of injury, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • Bleeding from or from around the eye
  • Bruising
  • Decreased vision
  • Double vision
  • Eye pain
  • Headache
  • Itchy eyes
  • Loss of vision
  • Pupils of unequal size
  • Redness
  • A sensation of something in the eye
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Stinging or burning
  • Swollen, tender eyelids
